Mariana Destro realizou a exposição individual “Jardim”, com trabalhos de instalação a partir de found objects e escrita, produzidos entre 2017 e 2018. Para a ocasião, a artista projetou a vitrine do espaço expositivo, dando origem à instalação Jardim. Ela criou um jardim indomado, mas artificial, provocada pela ideia de que o pensamento ocidental impõe uma falsa dicotomia entre natureza e cultura. Nele, pelas mãos da artista, a natureza, entendida como um dos alvos do projeto de colonização, cresce dentro de ambientes estéreis como o cubo branco. O jardim tem ao centro a trança de palha-da-costa, objeto que veio em sonho. Um sinal de Iansã.

Mariana Destro held the exhibition “Jardim” (Garden), featuring installation works based on found objects and writing, created between 2017 and 2018. The artist designed the gallery's vitrine for the occasion, presenting the installation Jardim. She created an untamed but artificial garden in response to the notion that Western imaginations impose a false dichotomy between nature and culture. In it, by the hands of the artist, nature, thought as one of the colonization project's targets, grows inside sterile environments such as the white cube. The straw braid, an object she saw in a dream, is the focal point of the garden. A sign from Oya.
